Meet Shane:

Shane began working as a law enforcement professional in 2000. Currently, he serves as Chief of Police for the Concordia University Texas Police Department. Shane is fortunate to have gained extensive leadership experience throughout his career, to include graduating from the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas Leadership Command College (Class 74) in August 2015 - an honor only shared by at or around 1500 other law enforcement executives in the State of Texas. He is also a graduate of Travis County's Leadership Education Achieving Developmental Success (LEADS) program, a leadership development trilogy modeled after the United States Military Academy - West Point.

Shane has a Master Peace Officer certification, and he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership and Ethics from St. Edward's University.

Added to his patrol and training/coaching experience, Shane has served as a Mental Health Officer, a Field Training Officer, and a Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) Instructor. He currently assists as an Adjunct Instructor for the Austin Police Academy and the UT System Police Academy - teaching Civil Process and Liability to cadets. Shane also enjoys teaching the Gang Resistance Education and Training (GREAT) program to elementary age children. The decision making and conflict resolution skills taught are invaluable life lessons for these future leaders.

Shane's volunteer experience includes prior work as a mentor for Seedling Foundation, in hopes of advancing their mission to "support children challenged by parental incarceration." Shane currently volunteers with the Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society, and he serves as the Secretary for the Journey to Damascus - Central Texas Board of Directors.

Shane, his wife Christina, and their two daughters, Phoebe (16) and Tobi (2), are proud to reside in Southwest Austin
